(A piece from a few months back; directed at the rising obsession-fad of identity politics in Western left circles. While the oppression of queer communities cannot be denied and should occupy the frontal concerns of liberation theory, the identity politics that spews from all corners (read: Tumblr) reeks of bourgeois distraction; "look not at the poor, brown people being drone struck. Look not at the money trail billowing out of the rubble of their homes and snaking right back into our pockets. Let's instead direct our attention to the pronoun usage in our daily conversations and the obliteration of gender barriers, rather than the barriers of class.")
